SMS Terms & Conditions

CECA SMS Notification Program

Effective Date: August 4, 2026

These SMS Terms & Conditions govern participation in the Comanche Electric Cooperative Association (CECA) SMS Notification Program. By opting in, you agree to receive text messages as described below and agree to these terms.

Program and Brand Name

CECA SMS Notification Program, operated by Comanche Electric Cooperative Association (CECA).

Program Description

The CECA SMS Notification Program provides enrolled members and other authorized recipients with operational, account, safety, emergency, and service-related text messages. Depending on the program and your enrollment selections, messages may include:

  • Power outage notifications and restoration updates
  • Planned outage or maintenance notifications
  • Billing reminders and payment confirmations
  • Account and service notices
  • Safety and emergency communications
  • Other utility-related communications you request or authorize

Marketing or promotional messages will not be sent unless CECA separately obtains any consent required by applicable law.

Consent and Eligibility

By enrolling, you represent that you are the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number provided, or that you are otherwise authorized to consent to messages at that number. You authorize CECA and its service providers acting on CECA's behalf to send automated or non-automated text messages related to the program. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing electric service or any other CECA service.

You are responsible for notifying CECA if the mobile number is reassigned, disconnected, or no longer under your control.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on account activity, outage and restoration events, planned service work, emergencies, and the notification preferences you select. During an outage or emergency, you may receive multiple messages as conditions change.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply.

Charges, if any, are determined by your wireless carrier and mobile service plan. CECA does not charge a separate fee for participation in the SMS Notification Program.

Opt-Out Instructions

To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any CECA SMS message.

After you send STOP, CECA may send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will not receive additional messages from that SMS program unless you opt in again. Other non-SMS communications and essential account notices may continue through available channels.

For help, reply HELP to a CECA SMS message.
